Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-14-draft · Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Draft for legal review. This document hasn't been approved by counsel yet, and the bracketed details are still to be filled in. It describes how THE GRID works today.
These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("THE GRID", "we", "us") about your use of enterthegrid.co and its services. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use THE GRID.
1. What THE GRID is
THE GRID is a professional network and directory for the cannabis industry. Businesses hold a Plot in a District and publish a headquarters page; people discover businesses, genetics, events and each other. THE GRID helps people find who they should know. It does not sell, ship, deliver or broker cannabis or any other product, and it is not a party to any transaction between its users.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- You must be able to form a binding contract, and using THE GRID must be lawful where you are.
- If you use THE GRID for a business, you confirm you are authorized to act for it, and these terms bind that business too.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it current. One person per account.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think it has been misused.
- Administrator and researcher accounts must use two-step verification.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or that put others or THE GRID at risk.
4. Plots, headquarters and verification
- A Plot is a place on THE GRID's map and a listing in its directory. It isn't real property, a security, or an asset you own or can transfer.
- We may assign, move or renumber Plots, and reclaim a Plot whose account is closed or that breaks these terms.
- "Verified" means we reviewed the documents a business gave us at that time. It isn't an endorsement, a license check you can rely on, or a guarantee about the business. Paying for a membership never buys verification or a better organic ranking.
5. Memberships and payments
There are two memberships. A Free Member account costs nothing. A Plot Owner membership costs US$29 a month for one business Plot and is paid through Stripe; THE GRID never sees or stores your card number. It renews automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Owner HQ › Membership; you keep owner tools until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund part months. [Counsel: confirm the refund policy and any state-specific auto-renewal notices.]
If a payment fails, owner tools pause until it's paid. When a membership ends, your business, its headquarters and its content are kept, and you can renew. We'll tell you before we change the price of an existing membership, and the change applies from your next billing period. [Counsel: set the notice period.]
Promotions (sponsored placements and featured listings) are separate from membership, are reviewed before they run, and are always labelled. Neither a membership nor a promotion buys verification or a better organic ranking.
6. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you post: profiles, logos and images, Field Notes, listings, events, messages and other content.
- You give THE GRID a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example resize) and distribute it to operate, show and promote THE GRID. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others already shared, backups kept for a limited time, and anything we must keep by law.
- You confirm you have the rights to what you post and that it follows the Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove content that doesn't.
7. Genetics information
The genetics library records claims about cultivars (names, parentage, breeders) together with their sources. It is informational: sources can disagree, and we show competing accounts rather than pick a single truth. Don't rely on it for cultivation, purchasing, legal or medical decisions. Sources are credited as their permissions require.
8. Dealings between users
Any contact, agreement or transaction between users is solely between them. THE GRID doesn't check, guarantee or take part in it, and isn't responsible for it. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and your business, including cannabis, licensing, advertising and age rules.
9. Our content and the service
- THE GRID's software, design, artwork (including GRID Artwork), names and logos belong to us or our licensors. Don't copy, scrape or reuse them except as the site allows.
- We may change, add or remove features, and may suspend the service for maintenance or security.
10. Disclaimers
THE GRID is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information on it, including business and genetics information, is accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, THE GRID and its people won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify THE GRID against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your content, your business, your dealings with other users, or your breach of these terms or the law.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using THE GRID and delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example 6, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 14) continue after that.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Dispute resolution, venue and any arbitration clause to be set by counsel.]
15. Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes we will tell you in advance, by email or on the site. If you keep using THE GRID after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
